This is the story of when the whole country was at war, told by those who were actually there. British, French, Polish and Norwegian war veterans who took part in the campaign in Norway are interviewed about their experiences. Their powerful accounts have also been reconstructed. This documentary in three parts deals with the first months of the war in Norway. After promises of immediate help from the allies, Norwegian forces took up the fight against the invasion forces. But when help finally arrived, the Allies had their own agenda: They do not fight with the Norwegians and keep their operations secret. The Norwegian resistance is crushed and left to fend for itself as the Allies evacuate Norway. Allied soldiers are also left behind, sacrificed by their own governing powers.
