The screenplay "Jazz band," written and directed by Pupi Avati, aired in three episodes from April 30 to May 14, 1978. An intense autobiographical work in which the director recounts when, as a young clarinetist, he was trying to establish himself on the music scene in 1950s Bologna. Through the stories of the Criminal Jazz Band septet, Avati relives the musical adventures, first loves, and political events of his youth. The music, edited by Amedeo Tommasi, reached the top of the charts.
