14-part German family series, directed by Peter Harlos. After the death of master fisherman Hansen, widow Anke (Ursula Sieg) and daughter Antje (Barbara Fenner) are left alone to run the family business. Boatbuilder Detlef Detlefsen (Manfred Krug) takes over and must overcome the initial mistrust of the villagers. Together with the old fisherman Kuddel (Jens Exler), Detlefsen goes fishing and gets the business back on track. A relationship develops between Detlef and Anke. When Kuddel, due to age, no longer wants to be on the cutter and becomes harbormaster, Antje takes over his position at sea. She wants to become a fisherman after school anyway. The half-hour episodes aired on regional early evening programs.
