I promessi sposi is a television script produced by RAI and aired in 1967, based on the novel of the same name by Alessandro Manzoni and directed by Sandro Bolchi, who wrote the screenplay together with Riccardo Bacchelli. It was one of the most successful RAI screenplays in terms of audience and criticism, also for the extreme fidelity to the literary text which inspired it.
